Description

Sh2-71 (also PK36-1.1) is a complex nebula in the eagle, which has been studied intensively by professionals because of its structure. Although it is usually thought to be a planetary nebula, the binary star system inside it could have created the nebula in other ways: https://noirlab.edu/public/news/gemini1205/The second object in the image is Sh2-72, an emission nebula, as there are so many in this region of the sky.

The image is a crop from the full field of view of a 130PDS, to get a slightly better look at the small Sh2-71 nebula.
